Oscar is the name of the trophy, the Acadamy is basically the movie industry, thus calling it the Acadamy Awards.

the Oscar is the actual award you win, the 'Academy Awards' is the ceremony that is held to the actors/actresses that acheive and earn the oscar. Usually the association that is in charge of these ceremonies are simply called the 'academy' i know kinda confusing, lol they should just call it the frickin oscars and be done
