LAN Help!!?

Question

i connect two computer with direct cable. It show that local area network connected, but i dont know how to set up. i want to play condition zero with my brother, cant anybody tell me how to make it.

For XP, go to the control panel, then network connections, on the left click set up a new connection, then click on set up an advanced connection, then conect to another computer. The only thing missing is the next between each step. I have never done this, I just know where to go to get it done.
