Is it really a piece of the Berlin Wall?

I had a friend visit Germany a while ago. I was joking before he left that I wanted him to bring me back a piece of the Berlin Wall. He actually said he would and when he came back, he gave me a rock that looked like it was made of concrete. It's about the size of my thumb. Is it even possible that it's real? I saw a picture of him in front of a piece of the wall, but I know it could be some rock from his backyard. Just wondering....he swears it's real, but he could be teasing me.
