I am confused about how the pronunciation of Soraya would be. I think it sounds like a pretty name. If you want to name your girl this don't let anyone tell you different. The child will not have problems later in life because of her name. It will be nice that she most likely be the only one named Soraya. One day she will even thank you.

She'll have alot of problems later in life with a name like that. Just because you think it is cool is not a good reason to name a child an odd spelled name. I can't even begin to pronounce it. save her the trouble and name her Nestle instead. That is a well known name and everryone likes flavoured milk

Um I think it is pretty but on paper, not as a childs name. I think that she would be made fun of: if you like the S names that are unusual have you thought about:
Sarai
Shimea
Saffron
Salome
Sinai

Pronounced: Sor - i - ya????? That might cause some trouble for little one - people won't even know how to say her name.
Well doesn't matter really I guess, the name just isn't doing it for me. Sorry. But don't go by my reaction - if you like it, do it!

in theory, it's a nice name, but some people may have trouble pronouncing it. think of your future daughter's problems with having a name that kind of sounds like a skin disease...

i personally dont dislike the name but im not all that crazy about it either. but hey- it's ur baby, good luck and name her what ever u want to name her regardless of what people say or think.

You have to remember, she will go through school, and through life with it. Just because you feel really cool about what you named your kid doesn't make it right, and usually adds up to horrific taunting. Everyone will call her "Sorry" don't do that!
