You have seen porn movies from 70's and 80's specially European ones like Color Climax, you have probably noticed that women in those days didn't shave and might have very hairy armpits. My question is that wasn't it repelling at that time? I guess it was kinda routine or maybe sexy but don't understand how the trend of sexiness have changed during the past decades.

I was in my 20's during the 70's. In the US underarm hair wasn't done except by a very few & to tell the truth, I never heard anyone say it was erotic. I dated a lot then & not one guy asked me to grow underarm hair. As far as European porno movies are concerned, I think it has more to do with their hygiene than anything else. They don't look at it the same way we do. Did you know that the French bathe about once a week? I can't imagine what they must think of us.

Unshaved armpits were more common in parts of Europe but were never popular in the US except maybe among some hippies. I always found it sexy but Americans don't like it.
I asked my girlfriend to do it in the late seventies. Her reply? No way! Forget about it!

Europeans are very different, they were different then and are different now, we get to see european models, those shave, but there are lots of girls, who are not models who are around with hairy armpits....
I think it was never erotic... it's dirty.
