No. It's best to be tenderly honest, not brutally honest. It is SELFISH to be brutally honest just to make yourself feel better. Very selfish.

The old saying is always true. Honesty is the best policy. No one likes deception. It hurts the heart worse when something is kept from you rather than bringing everything out in the open.

When it comes to revealing the truth to another ask yourself three questions;
1. Is it true?
2. Will this knowledge benefit this person?
3. Is it kind?
If any of these cannot be answered yes, then keep the knowledge to yourself.

It depends on what the honesty is about. Sometimes it's better not to clear your conscious at the expense of someone else's feelings. All you are doing is making yourself feel better.

Yes honesty is the best policy!!!I would not want people to lie to me just to spare me heart ache.

It depends on what it is. If its an affair or something of that nature then no, that person should have it on their conscience forever as a consequence for what they did.

If tactfully done, perhaps. Also does that person HAVE to know what you want to get off your consciousness? If they absolutely don't have to know, then I don't see why you have to tell them.
