First of all why would you want to date a child when you are a man? And secondly you know you aren't dating her for love so come and get with the program! Grow up and find someone your own age to date!

To help you see from the "other" side...
Leave out the sex part, ok? Like it or not, without disputing if it is "fair" or not, any minor is under the authority of the parents. And we all know, how that gripes a 16 yr old (or 15, or...).
So, the parents can make the choice that they don't feel good about their child being with a 21 yr old. That does not mean that you are likely to be charged with rape, but if they say back off, and you refuse, they can make your life miserable. There are also laws regards to enticing a minor, or contributing to delinquency.
Best way to show the parents that you ARE an adult? Hear what they say, and respect it. I am a few years past 21 (hah!), and my perspective is that a healthy 21 yr old male is not wrong for wanting a physical relationship.
Just a matter of being realistic. NOT a good thing for the girl.

I suggest you be very careful...good for you for not having sex with her which suggest you really like the girl....you could be in serious trouble though if you two decided to have sex. I believe consent is immaterial at that age (it depends on what state you live in), At 21 your life is just starting and statutory rape or even an accusation could really damage your career choices You obviously care for and respect her, which is an oddity today. Dating her is not a crime, just be sure she isn't the type that would cry rape because you ticked her off (those types are rare but it happens) But, you would be better off with an 18 & up.

Well... I suppose legally if you never tough her in a sexual way(statutory rape includes molestation which is broader than actual intercourse) then you may be OK. My question is why don't you go find a girl your age? And why doesn't the parent object? Lets face it, you may be following the letter of the law but you still are just wrong.

Edit - And you are really opening yourself up to accusations that can ruin your life. Do you want to be the guy who raped the 16yo? Doesn't matter if its true or that it was consensually only what they print in the headlines.

this is an awesome question...I dont have an answer.....
Her parents might be able to make a case about you corupting the morals of a minor if you were to do other things that they did not like (letting her drink or keeping her out too late). I doubt that the police would do anything (unless you live in a small town)......
Please remember she is 16. Let her enjoy this time...prom, gigling girlfriends and ALL of that. She will never be able to get any of this time back and you have had yours!
Any chance you could find someone OUT of high school?

CURIOUS why you titled this 'RAPE' if there is nothing sexual?

No, in some states you can have sex after the girl being 16 or older. Check your state laws and find out. Also, you won't get into trouble if you don't have sex. There is no law against being friends and going out together.

Your question answers your question. Any compromising situation, whether or not it involves sex can be construed as an act against her will.Consequently - Statutory.

Yeah, I think alot of people here have the same reaction. Its not against the law, but you are just asking for trouble.

No, but I would stay away....you're just getting yourself in trouble. Especially cuz you're 21 the law will not be easy on you.
