I would like to hear from people who have had online relationships that have worked out for them. I really like a guy that i met online but all my friends say it will never work. We plan on meeting for real soon so who knows?

I had an online relationship for 6 years. It was really awesome because i homeschooled so i went to new york all the time. I just took my schoolwork, sent it to my parents and they graded it. They'd send more when i was done. If you have the money to spend on plane tickets and you dont mind the distance and not being able to see them constantly then its okay. I was never away from my boyfriend at the time for more than 3 weeks. I couldn't have done it longer than that. But, we ended it because he found someone local. My advice is to find someone local. That way you always have someone to hug. :)

Perhaps I'm just jaded, but I would never trust an online relationship. I was online in chat rooms before the World Wide Web was the World Wide Web. It was understood that everyone lies. It was expected. It's too easy to lie online. If you meet face to face, you at least have an opportunity to attempt to "read" them and can have a better indication of what's real and what's not.

Yes, online relationships can work, so long as the two are willing to make it happen. My boyfriend and I met online, we're 3,000 miles apart, and will be celebrating two years of knowing each other, and one year of being together in May. He's my soulmate, and we're deeply in love.

Yes online relationships can work. I met my soon to be hubby online and we have had a wonderful relationship. So don't listen to your friends, follow your hearts.

The answer is only you will know. Nobody knows the truth. I have one going on now and I think he is the greatest person but I don't know until I meet him and he is nerous too. Take what you can get because its reget we live with when we don't know Take care Heather

Well it can work for a while but eventually you have to live near each other and see each other in person every day or you'll go nuts.
