Well, everyone has said this bascially: In the NCAA tournament, any given team has a chance against anyone. That means Albany has the ability to beat Virginia or whoever else is in the tournament. The key for Albany is this : the play of Jamar Wilson. Wilson is a triple double waiting to happen. The America East player of the year averages 18pts, 6rebounds, and 5 assists. Wilson is the kind of player who can lead an underdog to an upset. The thing is: Does he have enough of a supporting cast to sustain the whole game? My theory is that he does. Jason Siggers is a solid guard who can contribute and the other Wilson, Brent, is a 6'8 inside presence. Brent Wilson hasnt been a good rebounder this season...Jamar has averaged more and is 7 inches smaller. Virginia is a weak inside team but with JR Reynolds and Sean Singletary they have strong guard play. However both Reynolds and Singletary are known to be erratic shooting the ball, often taking bad shots. Against NC St in the ACC tourney, Reynolds forced shot after shot and was 3-15 from the field. Virginia, must like Albany, is not a strong rebounding team therefore this game will come down to who's guards play better and who will rebound better. Albany can..anybody can win..it is truly a question if they will..and I think that it all depends on rebounding and the supporting cast for Albany

Virginia has a fairly decent team, not the caliber Ohio St. or Florida, more like Oregon or Louisville. Albany was very good in the America East, winning the conference tourney for the 2nd straight year, and still has Jabar Wilson (its best player). Albany can win, but most likely won't. Believe me, I'd like nothing better than an Albany win. I have to go with Virginia 70-64. ALSO, if you're looking for a first round upset, look at VCU over Duke, or Winthrop over Notre Dame.

You know anything can happen in the NCAA tournament, but I wouldn't count on Albany upsetting Virginia. Virginia has two of the best guards in the country with Sean Singletary and J.R. Reynolds. They both are averaging 18 points and 4 assists a game. And the both shoot over 80% free throws, that right there is enough to win you 2-3 games in the tournament early on. Albany is no George Mason, but I do give them credit for making it this far.

Yes, it's going to the be the biggest upset, at least in the first round. My money is on Albany. Virginia is overrated. -- Didn't they say that Boise State had no chance in beating Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl? Well, they did. Same thing is going to happen with Albany. They are going to cover their spread and probably even win it.

Their only chance is for Virginia to forget how to shoot the ball. The Cavs are streaky, so it is not impossible, but way, way, way out of the realm of even a remote possibility.

Anything can happen, but to be honest... I think you have a better chance of having your period.
