that's just a normal reaction...a reflex we're all born with. could be you have very cold hands too! LOL!!

No. This is the "startle" reflex and it totally normal. When she startles, just lay a comforting, heavy hand on top of her... that will calm her down. Also, let her hear your voice as you approach, so she won't be so startled...

She'll grow out of it as she gets used to the sound of life in your house.. your voice... your touch.

No, don't worry about that. My first baby did that. The funny part was...she had these unbelievably sharp little fingernails, and I had to cut them frequently or she'd scratch her face rather badly. I was having such a hard time doing that that people advised me to cut them while she was asleep...unfortunately...everytime I touched her...she jerked...

This is her startle reflex and completely normal. She probably will jump even if you don't touch her, just for no reason. You can try swaddling her, that might help.

no its just the muscles reacting to the touch after being rested for a while.
