Everything this great country does for them, the least they could do would be to atand up for 15 seconds.

People usually say some BS like "well, I don't like Bush." I just wanna ship 'em over to Iraq and see which one they choose.

Some people just don't know how lucky and fortunate they are to live in the United States. Show some respect for this great country.

I don't remember saying that it wasn't their right to choose what they do. I just remember saying it pisses me off.

It pisses me off
greatly. I think
its stupid. No matter
if it's just a "stupid flag"
it represents our country,
and you need to respect
where you live. Quite frankly
i think your a dumb ***,because
you live in the best country, and
you can't stand up for 15 seconds?
that's like a great big fxck you,
and a great Way to honor
all the fallen heroes in ALL
the wars who have fought&died you.
that's bullshit! Even if you don't
believe in god.

You are among the few patriots that recognize the lack of solidarity in the country today.

We are nothing but a bunch of wimps that sit on our fat asses and take everything for granted.

We have no allegiance to our country only what the money provides.

This country unfortunately is going down hill.

I agree with you. It makes me very mad when people do not pay proper respect to the pledge of allegiance, the flag and anything that relates to this great country. Yes, we have problems, more so than I would like, however, we are still a great nation and many of the problems will go away in time. I am an American and I am proud of it. I have my own political opinions but they never question what America is all about.

I choose to stand for the pledge of allegiance. I am a combat veteran that lost many friends in support of what the flag stands for. I would do anything for my country and the values for which it stands. The freedoms we enjoy are a direct result of the blood, sweat, and tears shed by patriots.
In light of what our country stands for, it is not mandatory for people to stand for our country. I don't think it is wrong for them not to stand, it is just disrespectful - and more than that - it is sad. But it is their right.

P.S. - I'm one of those Libs you aimed this question at.

Well, in my opinion, it makes me happy. To finally see people doing what America allows them to do and not bowing to the peer pressures. I, firmly believe that pledging allegiance to a country i pay to run, is ludacrious! The country should pledge allegiance to its citizens before we all revolt. God, i love freedom of speech. So pledge, i will not stand for you and the forcing of reciting your old age words brainwashing our children.

OK, Mr. Patriot. First this question, and then the one about "under God" in the pledge of allegiance.

A question for you: doesn't it bother you when you can't just invade any country you want to for made up reasons and then the rest of the world won't help you fix it?

it drives me crazy when this happens. some people just don't seem to have respect for this country. I mean even if you don't agree with everything that is going on, this is still America and we have the freedom to live the way we want to and make a good life for us and our family. So i think people should really be ashamed of themselves when they don't stand for the pledge of allegiance

That is a Freedom and Freedom was a right. Respect the fact that they can sit during the hombrage to a flag.I am a Patriot by Choice, I am not a Patriot by an Act of Congress or threat of imprisonment.
Smile and be happy in the fact they can remain seated without being detained for unAmerican Activities.

Obviously you need to review the rights of the individual in America. You have no control over what people do - they have the right to choose. What is it to you if they don't care to participate in a nationalistic prayer?

Just the way you obviously hate "unpatriotic" individuals, I can hate Bush. I can hate ignorant jerks like you.

No. What does make me mad is when they try to make children stand and pledge of allegiance in school. How much can a "pledge" mean when you're forcing unknowing children to do it? But then, I value free thinking over blind patriotism. You should applaud your country when it does right, and stand up and dissent when it does wrong. If you can't stand people exercising their freedom and rights why don't YOU go to another country?
