I read an Art book for college today and they said 1939 what do you guys think?

Probably yes. That's the year of Gone With The Wind and Wizard of Oz right? I was thinking Snow White was that year, too, but looks like it was a bit earlier.

For the time, they were pretty spectacular and they are still huge today. Sheesh - they're almost 70! Color was fairly new, talkies were fairly new and the sets were pretty awesome. The acting wasn't half bad either and the music was something else. Yes, I'd vote for 1939.

I just checked on some of the others for the year. What a class!

I'd say 1963.

The Pink Panther. The Birds. Camp classic "Jason and the Argonauts". 8 1/2. And two of Bergman's best films, "The Silence" and my favoritest movie ever, "Winter Light."
