I think my friend got fired because she's gay.
Well the whole story is that she started dating her manager's niece (who also works here). The manager found out that my friend and her niece were hanging out together and even though the niece hasn't come out yet, she put two and two together and starting cussing out my friend forbidding her to hang out with her niece. She also gave the niece's mother's number of my friend so she could also call her and cuss her out. Eventually my friend got fed up and told her manager sarcastically, "I'm glad you decided to give my ****** number to the whole damn world" And she was fired for disrespecting her boss.

Does she have a good case if she goes to equal employment??

If she cussed at her boss, then the boss had the legal right to fire her for it. She does have a case in many areas for harassment in the workplace based on sexual orientation. She also has a case for something else. I'm not sure of the specifics, but I'm about 100% certain that giving out your friend's phone number is illegal. Those records are supposed to be kept private and by the boss releasing her personal information without her consent, the boss broke the law.

It depends on what State she's in, she probably has a good case, because, basically any case is a good case, juries like to give money to employees, and lawyers are aware of that and will take almost any case.
