Seriously, a friend of a friend started lecturing me about how bad eating meat is a few days ago, and that is just one example. I hear people in the supermarket in the "soy" section, and they have this "holier than thou" attitude. It drives me crazy...

We don't, I swear!
I am a partial vegetarian (considered a "non-meat eater"..only eat turkey and chicken) and I don't think that I am better than anyone else. I don't get a big head because I don't eat meat...that's retarded. I don't look down on people because they eat meat because for the life of me...I don't have a reason why I don't eat red meat...I just decided not to.
So to answer your question..not all vegetarians do...actually I've never met a vegetarian who thought that they were better than others because of them being one.

Same reason a person who doesn't murder sees him/herself better than a murderer.
Or a person who isn't a pedophile sees herself better than a pedophile
I guess the best example would be a pro life person comparing themselves to an abortionist.
The pro life person believes the abortionist is committing murder, but the abortionist does not.

No not all do and by the way I am not a vegetarian. I think they are better than other people because we basically indirectly kill an animal and they dont.

Cause we are :)
Just kidding...but why do you think that? Can you give examples of friends/acquaintances in your own life who act that way, or are you relying on the radical PETA stereotype?

I'm trying to figure that out myself.
If they are so concerned about the welfare of the animals, WHY are they always out there in the garden whacking down the vegetables? Wouldn't the humane thing to do be leave the vegetables in the garden for the animals to eat?
And then, the animals could get bigger and plumper and yummier !! I love animals too ... they taste great !
