i had an extremly sore throat... i ate some bacon at a meal, and after eating the bacon, my throat was ultra soothed, is this coincidence or is bacon a not so well known sore throat soother?

Weird! Not that I've heard of but maybe the oil coated your throat and protected it a bit. Huh.

Never heard of bacon as a throat soother, because its harder it should actually cause pain swallowing. I usually take a Zinc Lozenge for a sore throat. But whatever does the trick, its ok.

Salt hepls soothe a sore throat so I'm sure the bacon would do the trick. Maybe you are on to something, like a bacon lozenge.

It is probably the salt content in the bacon. You can gargle with salt water and it re-establishes the pH balance in your mouth which in turn would soothe your throat.

I think it's the salt. Salt water gargle is a common remedy. Salt kills the bacteria and also pulls moisture into the throat tissue.
