An organism that transmits disease by conveying pathogens from one host to another (vector insect)
A virus used to deliver genetic material into a cell

A vector usually refers to an organism that transfers a certain disease from a host to another organism. The vector is often an insect. Usually the disease is transferred through blood or saliva of the vector.
