Some of the books we have been reading in English make me feel retarded so I have to resort to SparkNotes or something similar to it. Is is really like cheating- Or does everybody else use it as well? I feel like the new young generation of America are just becoming more stupid and mentally lazy.

It depends on how you use it. If it is to replace reading the book, teachers dont like that and do consider it cheating because it is taking a short cut. If it is to review the book you just read or to find things in book you read easier, no thats what it was made for.

I use Sparknotes alot. That was the only way I could understand Jane Eyre. I don't think it is cheating because most of the assighned reading books are so difficult to read.
