im trying to buy a wireless card for my computer and i dont even kno what these numbers mean. 802.11? what?

802.11x is an IEEE standard for wireless lan networking. I am almost positive you computer is either an 802.11b or 802.11g.
GO to My Computer, right click on Properties.
Go to Device Manager.
Network Adaptor.
