Buchanan arranged a raid on the Russian consulate tio get Jack out and/or capture the consul to get information on Gradenko. The VP threatened the prime minister of Assad's country with nuclear strikes if they didn't cooperate with trying to find Fayed, as he stated that "Assad was responsible for the assassination attempt on Palmer." Logan went to his wife's bungalow (she's shacking up with Aaron Pierce) to convince her to contact Subharov's wife to put pressure on Subharov to get the consul to give himself up. There was a delay as Mrs. Subharov was giving a speech. Before the call could be made, Martha Logan stabbed Charles in the neck/shoulder area with a paring knife. As the ambulance arrives and they're taking Logan out, she gets through to Mrs. Subharov who has her husband call the consul telling him to surrender to the Americans. When he refuses, Subharov authorizes an assault on the consulate, during which the consul is killed but Jack gets out alive with the information on Gradenko (assault led by Mike Doyle, played by Ricky Schroder). As the episode ends, Charles Logan dies in the ambulance.
