i always have to put the coffee and sugar in first, then the hot water to disolve the sugar and coffee (if it's instant) then the milk!!

I put in the milk, sweetener, then the coffee. This dissolves the sweetener and I don't use a spoon to stir it up.
I live in a veterans' home with about 100 other people. An urn of coffee is put out several times a day and I don't like using a spoon that has been in some scurvy dog's coffee cup so I do it like I stated.

instant coffee, don't make me yak! have some self respect and get to dunkin donuts in the morning. myself I put the coffeemate in the mug and pour the coffee over it, that way you don't have to stir it.
