I finally have my male betta in a 10 gallon tank with two African dwarf frogs. I want to get at least a couple more small fish for the tank, and was leaning toward one or two more frogs, or cory fish, but wanted to see if there was another option. I think frogs are better with multiples so I may do that -- they get 1.5 inches in adulthood and don't want to overcrowd. But it can't hurt to ask, my crowntail betta is pretty docile (unlike girls I have had in the past who in 10 gallons who attacked my adorable bubble fish).

Don't put either guppies or goldfish in with the betta. The guppies have tails that resemble bettas (and can lead to aggression) and goldfish are coldwater fish, bettas are not.

Small tetras like neons, cardinals, glowlight etc. Rasboras like sisscor tails and rasbora het. Cories are okay. White cloud minnows. All these should be good choices as they aren't aggressive enough to cause harm to the bettas (unlike the larger tetras, danios and barbs) and plain enough not to get the betta to be aggressive to them (avoid long flowing, especially colorful, fins).

I would go with the Cory as it is a bottom feeder. Your beta hangs around the top part of the tank. Your african Dawarf Frogs are messy and I wouldn't put any more in your 10 gal. tank. The Cory is a good choice. You really don't want to add any fish with wavy long fins and tails for some reason thet nip at the beta's tail. Guppy's are a bad choice as they will nip at your beta and slowly kill it. Just my opinon. Hope this helps answer your question.

fish that can swim faster than your betta the frogs however need to go in anther tank they put off to much slime to allow the betta to do very well you should think about cory catfish they have amour and spines to fend off attacking fish they pick up food from bottom and eat shrimp pellets every coouple days

Generally any peaceful fish that doesn't:

1)Look like a betta. (fancy guppy)
2)Act like a betta. (gourami)
3)Is a slow swimmer. (goldfish)
4)Is a fin nipper. (barbs, and large tetras)

I'd go with cory cats, platy, danios, swordtails....
