Yes and no.
Literally, the term is an oxymoron because in questions of policy ("how should we proceed?") there is no correct answer.
Figuratively, the term is not an oxymoron because correct here means sensitive or showing appropriate respect. Something that is correct politically is an expressed thought that's sensitive to others' opinions and which does not offend any particular group or affiliation. In figurative terms, there is no paradoxical quandary.

Philosophically, yes. Technically, no. What I mean is that "politically correct" generally is only being correct towards a specific group of people, which causes things like Affirmative Action which is still being racist. Politics is hardly ever correct these days.
Technically, "political" and "correct" are not opposites, and so do not fall under the category of literal oxymorons. Great question!!

There was a extra useful term for calling somebody "politically spectacular" returned a pair many years in the past. The term become... fowl sh**. Or spineless weasel. The term politically spectacular got here approximately using fact human beings have been given indignant whilst somebody informed them the reality pertaining to to something they the two are, or supported. i think of politically correctness has helped corrupt the country into being afraid to communicate our minds whilst the government is performing above its honestly powers, using fact it makes human beings apprehensive of repercussions against them. this isn't any diverse than the demokommies calling every person who's against Obama a racist, and asserting "you purely do unlike him using fact he's black!", whilst that often has no longer something to do with it. Politically correctness additionally further approximately a slew of frivolous lawsuits over the worst issues...this is censorship in the worst way. once you're a moron, I certainly have the spectacular to call you a moron. in case you get your emotions harm, then you certainly ought to artwork on no longer being a moron. there is political correctness on the roads, too. this is unlawful to get mad at somebody in yet another automobile, no remember what, or you get a value tag for highway rage...what with reference to the jerk who become speaking on his cellular telephone, all via himself in his 6000lb SUV on 40" tires who drifted into your lane without looking or signaling, that led to you to get mad in the 1st place? Why would not he get a value tag particularly for being an fool who incited the line rage? I say enable's get rid of political correctness, vote out each joker in workplace now who's an incumbent in the subsequent election, teach them how politically spectacular this is.
