I am no longer the parent of a teen...but I was one once...so I'm going to answer
How do they see the typical day of the child? I don't understand this one...how do teens see the typical day of a child...ummmm probably just like every other day?
How does family routine change during the school year and summer? Not much, my daughter took summer classes and had Kung Fu and Dance classes during the summer just like during the School year.
How does family routine change during the school week and weekend? Not much, We got up later on weekends but since I worked outside the home weekends were spent getting the place back into shape for the following week.
What are the child’s interests and hobbies? My daughter has a multitude of interests, one of them is the French language and culture, Kung Fu/Martial Arts, Musical Theatre, art and writing
What’s it like being a parent to the child now compared to when the child was younger? There really wasn't much of a difference, I still dealt with major issues as they arose and I picked my battles. Clothes and makeup were less of a concern of mine than other things.
Any special demands on being a parent with this age child? Not for me.
What are the parent’s hopes and dreams for the child? Same as they always have been, for her to be happy within herself and find something to do with her life that adds too that happiness and spreads it around.

I am thirteen so I will answer the best I can...
1. Go to school, come home. do homework, eat dinner, go to bed...
2.In the school year we are more scattered and not together. Summer is sorta the same but we will probably be in summer camp or something (I have been in the same summer camp with my three bothers since I was nine but we were in different classes) and the night was spent together
3. School week consist of homework, homework, homework and weekends is more relaxed
4. My hobbies are writing, drawing, singing, dancing, etc.
5. I am more rebelillous then when I was younger, and I have a smarter mouth and talk about what people need to know and more so yeah
6. I dont like to talk to people, I just dont and so my mom finds it quite hard getting ME to talk to people
7. I dont know what her dreams are for me but I want to be an author

They go to school, come home, sometimes go to work, other times goes to sport practices. They both play Hockey and any sports that the school offers. We have supper, chat a bit, watch TV, play games some nights and then go to bed by 10pm. Weekends pretty much the same but sometimes will go out for supper, shopping or a movie.
Summer we all work and usually see each other around supper time. On the days off and if it's really hot, we go down to a nearby lake for the day. Evenings, we have a fire and sit outside and chat or just vegetate inside with the A/C on and no bugs to fight off.
The demand now is much more chaotic with them being involved in sports, work and being a teen with all the hormones that come with it. The battle to keep them childless till their much older and to keep them free of drugs and alcohol is a never ending job. We hope that they make smart choices and when they fail, they'll learn from them and be better because of it. Favorite saying is " small kids, small problems, big kids, bigger problems. We've had a lot of downs but we celebrate the ups more.
Dream that the kid will make the most out of their lives and will find something that will make them happy and fulfilling, no matter how much they make. Money never creates happiness, it what you make of your life, that does.

Typical day of the child - school, home, veg out in front of the telly, eat, clean up, shower, sleep.
Only thing that changes is that we don't have to get up early to get ready for school, the day starts later and things aren't so rushed.
as above for the weekend.
Interests & hobbies - Xbox, Air Force Cadets, Flying lessons
Cheerleading.
Things now are more expensive, especially school wise, with school fees and uniforms and such. When they are younger, explanations for things aren't so complicated!
Demands - privacy, respect (on both sides) MONEY!
Hopes & Dreams - I hope my kids are happy, healthy and persue their own dreams and ambitions and we will do whatever we can as parents to help our kids acheive this.

That's a lot of questions, I'll do my best.
My son is almost 14, he is a really great kid. I have always loved being his mother, but I really like it now. I like watching him becoming a man. I have worked very hard at being a good mother in order to enjoy him as he "blossoms" into his full self.
One of the major demands is to be considerate of what it is to be adolescent and the social atmosphere as well as all of the physical changes, I think it is the worst time in life.
I tell my son that I love and adore him, but I will be disappointed if he settles in our town. I want him to explore the huge, exciting world that we live in--good enough?
Oh, he has to go to his father's for the summer.
