"Near the universe"? Everything is IN the universe!

The core, in earth science, is the inner 2 layers of the earth.
The surface of the earth is called the crust (5~70 km).
Next comes the upper mantle (35~660 km). The crust + the upper mantle are the lithosphere.
Next comes the lower mantle (660~2890 km), which is a thick, viscous mix of melted rock that flows like mud.
Next is the outer core (2890~5100 km),
and finally the inner core (5100~6400 km), mostly hot, liquid iron.

The universe is basically the same everywhere - there is no center.
Galaxies often have black holes at their centers.

The core of the universe? There is no core to the universe, because the universe doesn't have a center. The core to the earth, however, is in the center of the planet, wrapped in the mantle and the crust, rotating.
