I appreciate your world now revolves around your child. BUT only your world does, no one elses.

They never understand how amazingly uninteresting 99.99% of a infants actions are.

So, who do you have as more boring?

Oh Noes!

I used improper english? Close da internetz!

I didnt know having a kid made a person a english teacher. Oh well, practicing for the future i suppose. Your forgiven.

HOWEVER, please don't be so bitter. Its not a good thing for a parent.

And World of Warcraft addict, if you think your "friends" REALLY wanna hear tales of children so amazingly average, i cant say your wrong. And hey, who knows, getting to level 70 MIGHT be a accomplishment too.

Pamela, please share these big accomplishments that you mentioned.

Write a opera? Paint a masterpiece? Graduate from college?

Or do we mean something more like.. made it to the bathroom without crapping on the rug?

well, you try being interesting on a half hour of sleep a night.

yes, being a new parent is pretty much all-encompasing, and it can be wearing on the nerves of someone who has never experienced it, but if they're your friends, you can deal with it for a few months, at least til the kid starts sleeping through the night.

I'm sure you've had something in your life that you've found interesting despite how lame everyone else who didn't have it thought it was. When people have children they see life in new ways, their baby is growing everyday and learning something new , everything is fascinating to a baby and it rubs off on the people who cae for the child. sorry that you find something so impossibly fascinating boring, but out of respect for the new parents why not understand their excitement and just suffer through their stories. If you can't do that you're not a very good friend and i imagine that you dislike children. I've heard far more uninteresting stories.

How sad.

It's GOOD that parents are completely in love w/ their children. It's what keeps the species going. A good friend will listen to what interests the other person, even if it doesn't interest him or her. I listen to my husband talk about golf even though I'm not the least bit interested. I love him and am interested in what he is interested in.

By the way, 99.99% of infant actions are TOTALLY AMAZING! They are growing and developing at a phenominal rate. They are assimilating information faster that we ever could as an adult. Young babies also know much more about their environments than we tend to believe (just meet a baby that can use sign language to be floored).

Well lets see in the category of boring there would be....you. You're even so bored you had to come to a parenting chat area to try and get a rise out of people. If you're wondering why I'm even answering it's just because you left yourself so widely open to insults I couldn't resist. Hope you're less bored because I know the friends that you call boring are anything but bored with their baby right now. The real suggestion I have is to go baby-sit and then maybe they can do something fun and have something to talk to you about that doesn't involve their baby.

Well, gosh...there are the people who drop off the face of the planet when you have a baby because suddenly they aren't the center of your universe anymore and all they really want to talk about is themselves and the bad relationship choices they keep repeating over...and over...and over again and they think that if they actually get off their butt and come visit you you might actually say "hey, my kid said "kitty" today" instead of "tell me about the fact that you called your boss an idiot to his face and got fired for the fifteenth time in three years/got jealous because the friend you don't want got engaged even though you don't want him/got your car stolen again when you left your keys in the ignition...again."

Yeah, those people can be pretty boring. Because they don't understand how amazingly uninteresting their tendency to do the same stupid thing over and over and over again is and "kitty" is sounding pretty darn intelligent. But you know what? Friendship is about putting up with the boring bits and loving through it. So get over it or get over them.

It's because we're so bored with being new parents (that and numbed by the lack of sleep) that these milestones are of monumental importance to us--it shows that we're at least doing SOMETHING right.

I admit, my son wasn't that interesting until he started showing an interest in what was around him. And I did make an effort not to impose my new parenthood on my single and/or childless friends. As they've stayed my friends, I like to think I've succeeded in that.

Honestly, maybe you find new parents boring but i'm sure the feeling is mutual in alot of cases. If you haven't experienced the joy of becoming a parent, you really wouldn't understand it at all. When you have a child, you realize how boring your life was before that time. We are very proud of the milestones our children reach and maybe it doesn't matter to you, but to us it's something special. If you don't want to share in our happiness, more power to you. But don't class us as boring just because we find things exciting that maybe you don't. We're only human!

No I don't think anyone is more boring then new parents, and as someone without kids it's practically torture to fain interest in someone's kid. Ok a quick update if I asked or a funny story here and there but all the pics and video of them singing or what you did over the weekend with them eye watering type of boreing and why are they always complaing about be tired...guess what so am I, I work 8hrs a day 5 days a week but I don't complain.

Your statement is biased and skewed.

But of course, you're entitled to your own opinion.

Let me help you rephrase:

"I never understood how amazingly uninteresting 99.99% of an infants' actions are."

Don't speak on my friends behalf.

You are more boring, bothering to post a question like this on a pregnancy chat space when you are obviously not interested. Go and bother some other group.
