Im two days late with two negative pregnancy tests taken two days after what should have been my start date?

Question

I wore a tampon this morning just in case & there was a little bright red blood on it but nothing all day since.
I took a HPT on my what should have been start date which was negative and then another one today which puts me two days late, it was also negative. I have never been late before except for when I was pregnant with my three year old son. Is it possible I am testing too early and I am pregnant? If so, why the bright red blood and if the negatives are correct why would my period be "there" but not....So confused and stressed!!! I appreciate all your answers.

I would say wait till you are a week late, then test again.

I actually waited to test with my little boy because I spotted bright red and thought it was a period. After a day I quit spotting and I took a (positive) test about a week later. You should probably just wait a week or so and test again if you don't start for real. I know that it's really hard to wait, but short of a blood test, I don't think there's much else you can do.

u need to wait until 6 weeks after ur last period ( 2 weeks late) and then do a hp test and if still neg see ur local gp for a blood test - inregards to the light period - people can still be pregnant and have their periods the whole way thru - dont stress until ur 2 weeks over due

it is best to wait at least 1 to 2 weeks after your missed period to take a test to get the best results. as for the blood, some women do still bleed a little when they are pegnant. on the other hand it may just be stress. I suggest you wait a little longer and try to relax....Best of luck.

i also agree wait another week then test that just happened to me i had my normal regular period on jan 30. then on feb 24 i had spotting only lasted 3 hours went away. so then on march 6 still didnt get regular period took 2 tests both bright positive then i just had it confimed today at my doctors im 6 weeks pregnant. so just wait and then test again.
