i love the show. and i must say that i have called every single character, even the dopey daughter a name or two in the past. i think it's just part of the brilliance of the show. i cant stand marie's constant criticisms, ray's stupid lies, robert's chronic whining, his dumb wife/girlfriend/whatever's stupid face. i guess i have never really had a problem with frank except the time he drove through the living room. that was crazy on his part to want ray to take what they wanted him to get, but the funny thing is all these characters are needed to make the show work.
great show, but yeah, debra is a pain. she knew what she was marrying tho

Yeah she is a big b****! Her main problem is she's snooty. She comes from an affluent family and tends to look down on everyone else. Have you noticed because of her nasty ways, the majority of problems that Ray encounters is because of her? He doesn't want her to get mad at him or be offended by anything that his parents or friends say so he ends up lying or doing the wrong thing.
My favorite episode is when Ray is making up "pet" names to call Debra. He calls her something but realizes that if he uses an affectionate tone of voice she thinks it's a term of endearment. His friends keep telling him to cut it out because eventually she will catch on but Ray believing Debra truly isn't paying attention to him calls her a ______ S***! ( can't remember right now what name he said) and yes, Debra heard him that time. The look on her face was classic!
Edit: I Love Marie!!! She is the type of mother I wish my boyfriends had. If I don't feel like cooking go across the stree and eat at your mom's. Yeah she'll talk about me behind my back but at least I won't have to deal with her whiny son when I have 3 kids of my own to deal with.

I love that show
I think everyone on that show plays an integral role
Ray as the confused husband
Debra- the backbone of the family, she doesnt let ray or his mom get away with too much
Marie- keeps the show funny and keeps debra on her toes..the mom is a ***** though...I re when she drove her car into the front of Ray & debra's house...It was so funny ..I couldnt stop laughing
I love this show...I wish it would come back!

No! I agree with you completely. My parents and I watch it every night and should is so mean and nasty to Ray's parents. She is the one who usually creates the problems and start drama with Ray's parents even when they genuinely want to help. Yes, the in-laws are a bit disgusting but come on. Debra is annoying and irritating, my least favorite character. She thinks she is entitled, knows everything, and is snobby and stuck up. Debra knew she was marrying into an Italian family oriented group of people.

I love the show, but hated the Debra character. They made her seem so beautiful and great but was far from it. I also hated that she felt her and her family was better than Ray and his family. That is why I used to love when the Marie character would throw jabs at her. I loved everyone else s character though.

Yea i see what you propose, i consistently thought that he replaced right into somewhat to friendly to debra, yet i dont think of she likes him. i think of Robert merely needs her reason shes married to Ray.

I like Debra. Her husband is an idiot who is away half the time traveling, and with a mother-in-law like that who can blame her?

Not at all. Raymond is a complete idiot. Not to mention the in-laws from hell. I've always had a soft spot for her. I'm going through the same thing with my in-laws.
Besides, I've always had a crush on her from the day that show went on the air.
