Like every back, Droughns certainly had a good start with the Broncos...but I think that is more about the o-line in Denver than anything else.
This being said, he lost that edge in his time with the Browns the last couple of seasons. I'm not sure the Giants have that great of an offensive line either.
He certainly will give the Giants a different dimension to that of Jacobs...but speculating based on the past few years leaves me seeing Giants fans disappointed with the run game in 2007. Anything is possible...say the Giants were to draft some unheralded rookie for the line that shocks the league...either Jacobs or Droughns takes their respective talents up another level...or whatever.

Here we go again the ''1, 2 punch teams''. No I usually give a good reason for what i say but unlike the Bears (thomas Jones, Cedric Benson) and the Saints(Reggie Bush , Deuce McAllister) the Giants RB(Droughns and Jacobs) don't have skill. How old is Ruben now. Hes not good and the Giants are a passing team now. No 1, 2 punch crap for the Giants, Sorry but Eli Manning is going to have to be better than Mike Vick next year.

Brandon Jacobs merits a wager to start. Reuben Droughns will in all probability start up for the Giants yet nevertheless Brandon Jacobs will play lots this season, despite if he would not start up.

Droughns will be OK but if you watched the Giants Tiki Barber was an almost slasher, he would make one cut and turn up field. Droughns was a fullback who got a starting job due to injury in Denver and he got cocky and did not want to return to fullback. Droughns was the number one on Cleavland's team but I think my grandma could have been a number one back on the Browns, Reuben Droughns is at best a number two running back who should back up who ever the Giants have because in my opinion Brandon Jacobs can not be a start in the NFL he is an OK goal line back but runs with his pad level way to high making him a big target for linebackers who are the same size to split him in two.

He is there only to take the load off of Jacobs, but Jacobs is the starter and will get the bulk of the carries.
Droughns is not a premier back and this is not a 1-2 punch. It will be Jacobs job to carry the load

i wished they went after t.bell... i dont think have TWO huge backs will accomplish anything.. i guess reuben better learn how to block good for jacobs and eli..
i think eli will throw the ball more this year, which as a giants fan, not sure if i want him to do that.

No...Droughns doesn't replace Tiki...to think that would either be downright ridiculous, or the worst kind of wishful thinking...I think he will be effective, though...and I guarantee that he's glad to be out of Cleveland......

he is a Ron Dayne type back in the Giants system, and Dayne didn't do to well so he will be a bust in NY.

He'll get a lot of yards, but no touchdowns just like he always does.
