I would like to know whether prenatal pills make u sick. Before i started it i would feel good with no morning sickness. Now that i am on it i am sleeping all day, have no energy and very very full of gas. I eat every 2 hrs and have no taste for food.

Tell me is that normal or because of the pills?

Thanks.

Its probably the pills, they make ALOT of women sick. I would stop taking them and take either 1) flintstones vitamins which help alot of women or 2) none at all...

I know none probably isnt popular cause everyone THINKS you need them, but I had twins and was never perscribed them which I though initially was odd, but they came out 6 and 7 lbs.... And my son who was born 12 month later I didnt take the prenatals cause they made me sick, and he was over8 lbs... so they are not necesary!

Try a whole food-based prenatal vitamin. Make sure you check with your doctor on the recommended levels of each part of the supplement, so you don't get too little or too much of certain vitamins. Whole food-based vitamins tend to not make you as nauseated. I used Super Nutrition Pre-Natal blend and I didn't have the nausea problem that I did with the regular vitamins.

Pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, will make you really tired and sleepy all the time. Certain foods will make you very gassy; mostly vegetables and foods with lots of fiber affected me that way. Your "no taste for food" may be that you are developing food dislikes just during your pregnancy. I couldn't smell cooking meat without feeling sick during my two pregnancies, so I just ate a little differently. Good luck!

I always got sick on prenatal vitiamins with both of my girls. I started taking them just before I went to sleep and I never had any problems after that. I slept fine and in the morning felt great. Congratulations on the baby. I hope this helps

My best friend told me that when she takes prenatal vitamens that make her nauseous. I just recently started taking my prenatals, but they don't really make me feel sick. Atleast not yet. They actually smell like a milkshake and taste like vanilla. :) I have no energy and constipated/gasy but I hear this is just normal pregnancy signs. Good luck.

it could be a combination of the pill and being pregnant. I could not take prenatal pills while i was pregnant with any 4 of my children because the pills made me very sick. Talk to your doctor and see what he/she says.

I had to go through 5 different brands of prenatal vitamins before I found one that didn't make me sick or induce migraines. Yes, they can make you sick and yes you can ask your doctor for samples of other kinds to try and see if they work best. I finally settled on Pre-Care brand. No sickness or headaches.

the pills can change some things, but so does pregnancy. the big thing they can do is cause constipation. mention it to your ob, maybe they can try you on a different vitamin. congrats on the pregnancy though!!
