I went away recently and skipped my period. I had absolutely no problem until about 1 week ago when I started "spotting" then it turned into what I believe to be a full fledged period. So, today I was supposed to get my "real" period and have yet to get it.

Infact, I had "spotting" right up until last night.

Is it possible that my body is just not used to me skipping my period and now it won't come on the regular day? Did I already have my period? Or... worse :S

HELP!

I am sexually active AND I took my pill as I usually do. (eg. Around the same time everyday)

I've never had problems with it before... but I know skipping your period, by skipping your placebo pills tends to make your period a little... wonky.

I called my doctor when I skipped a period while on birth control pills (I didn't miss any and took them at the same time everyday). They said to continue taking my pills everyday, but to take a pregnancy test immediately. They said if it was positive to stop taking my pills at that time. Then they said if it was neg take a second one a week after the missed period. If it was neg I was to take my pills and see if my period started at it's normal time. They said if it didn't return the next cycle I needed to come in for a check up and might have to change my pill. Mine started the next cycle.

There can be many reasons that your period did not come on its regular schedule. Stress, sexual activity, and other medical reasons. If you had a full period after the spotting, you probably won't have one for another 28 days. Keep track of the cycle and spotting on a calendar. If the spotting continues please see your doctor. It is better to be safe. If you do not have one please go to your local free clinic. Good luck.

It's normal to skip a date, every now and then. It's normal, it could have to do with weather, what you eat almost anything can affect your period, but just in cause, take a pregnancy test and see what happens :D
