What do you like on yourself? Who cares what other people think? I will answer your question though as to what I like...
Jeans, not too tight, but not baggy and saggy, a little rock n' roll style, I like to see the shape of a mans body. If it's casual then just a t-shirt that actually fits. You don't want figure skater tightness but you want it to comfortably hug your body. If you lift up your arms completely out to the sides there shouldn't be too much extra fabric not touching your body. I think sesame street and old 80's logos are hott. If you are going more formal, out to impress, then again Jeans, but no tears or fading, some sort of nice checkered colored and collerd shirt with a light knit sweater over the top of it that is a solid match to a color in the other shirt. Not big on hats unless it's a knitted beany hat that your Grandma made you. :)
Oh yeah and watch "What not to wear" on TLC, they do have men on once in a while and give great tips.

I like clothes that FIT properly. Cleaner cut clothing, nothing baggy or too long/loose. Nice jeans or pants, sweaters, T-shirts, button down shirts. (not too preppy, but pulled together) As long as the cut and style suits you and fits, you'll get noticed.

i think the hottest style on men right now is the casual but dressy look....tight jeans with a vintage tee under a blazer, with sneakers- but not boring ones- ones that show off his personal style. to me, it's all about the guy looking confident, showing off his personal style and his best features
