I am interested in spray tanning, but I dont know exactly how long it lasts and I am wondering when your skin sheds, does the tan come off in patches?

What about pills? I heard you can take melanin pills that tan you, but I hear they turn your skin color orange as they cant match the exact pigment.

I am a tanning consultant for one of San Diego's largest tanning salon chain. Mystic tan is by far the most popular alternative to actually tanning in a bed. The best thing to do before you mystic is exfoliate yout skin, meaning take a shower and use somethin simple like a puff or loofa and rub off dead skin cells. After you are clean, go in for a session of mystic. If you are not tan, it will take about 2-3 session for you in order to see results but believe me it is working! One you have your base tan it will last about 5-7 days and the more you mystic the more prettier your tan will be! Obviously you are losing dead skin cells everyday and that is what makes the spray tan "fall off" but it shouldn't peel off in patches if you follow the tanning consultant's directions. But in case you do, there are amazing products to help prevent this from happening and your tanning salon should sell these. Just ask! As for the pills, I do not believe you should waste time or money on these, tanning is simple and wonderful when it's done right! Go into a bed with more UV B rays, these rays produce the melanin you will need to get tan in a UV a ray bed!

I don't know about the pills but I have spray tanned a few times and it has pluses and minuses. It lasts for about a week and it didn't fade in patches on me. The thing that bothered me the most was the smell. It smells like fake tanner and lasts the whole time you have it. Make sure you wipe off any excess spray right away or you'll streak.
