shouldn't we do something about the poor?

there are poor and homeless out there so shouldn't we do something about this

Unfortunately, here in the U.S. we've created a lot of dependency with our welfare programs. This creates more and more poor people every year.

The truth is, people who need societies help are very few and very far between.

If we truely, honestly, deeply want to help the "poor", we'll stop helping them. Nothing motivates like an empty stomach, and nothing satisfies like a days good work.

Yes. I think we should definitely do something about the poor. But, I think it shouldn't be our responsibility to take care of the poor. I think the government should set aside some funding especially for the poor to help them live a normal life. Because, the plight of those homeless and poor people are really sad. If noone helps them, who will?? Do we have no heart anymore?? I don't think we should always blame it on the poor that it's their own fault that causes their demise. I think that is so very untrue. Because, I don't think they would like to be poor or homeless themselves and I don't think anyone would like that. It is just their circumstances or lack of education or knowledge that drove them to their demise. Some ppl are also just less fortunate than others, you know. So, the government should step in to help out with them....

What do you suggest we do? I do not mean to be insensitive, but I honestly believe there is nothing that human beings can do to cure poverty. The most we can do is make it more bearable.

sorry no. if i handed you money, every week, what incentive would you have to get your own job when you know that i'll give you money, just because.

we make our own fate, everyone goes to schools, everyone can take out college loans...

People are too dependant on government handouts as it is.
