i have HP's pavilion slimline, a small-sized PC. however when i open the DVD tray (which i don't use too often), i see a lot of dust on certain sides of the DVD tray. my room isn't even dusty or anything. i don't know if it's because how this model was built, but i was wondering if others experience the same thing (who also use Pavilion Slimline).

I used to sell those. They are gathering dust because there is always dust in the air no matter how much you clean your room. I bet you have never cleaned your computer in the inside have you? Best thing to do is open the case (by removing the two big screws on the side of the back) and with a can of air (you can buy them anywhere like... Wal-Mart) and blow the heck out of the dust. Make sure you do it in short bursts of air or the can will get really cold, really fast, and burn your hand (it happened to me the first time I used one). Also, when the can doesn't have pressure, let it warm up and then it will have pressure. If you don't why the can will get cold, then don't worry about it; it's physics stuff. Just do as I said and you will have a smoother running computer because the dust that builds up acts as an insulator and your computer doesn't run as good because the cooler it is the better it runs. Anyway, this is simple stuff. Have fun (I always enjoy cleaning the guts of my comp, I even take the heatsink of the CPU to clean it but if you do this make sure you have thermal grease to put on the CPU when you are done).
