I need to write an essay for a freshman honors english class the prompt is... "write a tale of heroic adventure set in today's world or the future" ... ideas? please help!!

I'm not the most imaginative, or creative but i'll give it a shot. Your hero can be some extremely strong man (superman or something qualities) who saves a town from a flood. Or something more realistic, a hero who is chosen to go on a quest to save a kidnapped prince of something, and you can discuss what he encounters along the way, things can can give life lessons, such as, not everyone is good-hearted, if you put your mind to something then it can be achieved.
I believe that due to technological advances with cures and stuff, you can make a hero who finds a cure for cancer.

How old were you on September 11, 2001?
There were heroes all over New York City, Washington D.C., on a plane over Pennsylvania...
Unless the tale has to be fictional, there are tons of heroes to write about from that fateful day in history.

can it be fiction? write about someone who is good at anything. They are invincible! Make the plot dark and sinister. When the bad guy figures out who the hero is, have him take something. Then, the hero saves the day by getting back whatever the badguy took, and the bad guy goes to jail.
