other than the price of the cameras and the security guard's donuts and coffee as he gets paid to watch them? none. kids dont have any rights in school, or they shouldnt, and if they do then that isnt one of them. If the schools arent safe enough to not need cameras, they should have them. everyone except the trouble makers will feel safer then.

The ONLY thing I can think of is that the school might become a little bit lax in it's observation by LIVE people. I mean people IN the hallways, because they become too dependent and trusting of the cameras. They just might assume that a problem will be caught by the cameras.

(For the record, I'm ALL FOR security cameras in schools.)

Loss of privacy, intimidation, mind control, disrespect, a feeling that you are being accused of criminal behaviour, and cyberstalking, people who realize they are expected to be acting like hoodlums sometimes get the attitude they should live up to that. "Those who would sacrifice some essential freedom for security, deserve neither freedom nor security" (or something like that) - Ben Franklin

-less privacy (you're always being watched)
-costly (schools have to spend a lot of money on buying, installing, and maintaining these cameras..instead of using the money on books and other more essential supplies)

thats all i can think of for now.....

violation of privacy

my moms example: "what if i had a butt itch and i thought i was alone?"

its embarrassing if someone else was watching it and they came across all of the things you did when you thought no one was around

*i suggest you dont use my moms example though
