Albany and New Mexico State have absolutely no chance at all. Albany got a lucky bid, didn't even deserve to win their conference tournament and the 13th bid was a gift. Virginia will trample them. Don't even start talking about Texas. Nobody on NMS is going to be able to stop Kevin Durant. I'm expecting at least 30 this game from Durant and at least a 20 point win. On the other hand, the Maryland/Davidson and the Southern ILL/Holy Cross games should be intense. This is where the upset may occur. If i had to select one, I would say Davidson has the best chance of pulling off a 13-4 upset. Davidson has proven they can win games, even though they are in a crap conference, but they still have one of the best records. They will not go down without a fight and Maryland is a very beatable team. Their inconsistency may continue into the tournament and can cause them to crash in the 1st rd of the tournament. So pick Davidson if you had to.

I think the key to this question is to ask, "Which four seed has the most likely chance of blowing it?" The 13 seeds are just that...13 seeds. But if you look at the fours, I think you can say that Texas is the best of the bunch. They took Kansas to the edge twice. Maryland and Virginia both played a tough ACC schedule and did well enough. The Salukis, while putting up an impressive record, did come out of the MVC and just lost to Creighton.
I don't think any of the 4's will lose, but if you're picking an upset, I'd go with Holy Cross.

That's a tough decision between Maryland and Virginia.
The reason why I choose these teams is because the other #4 seeds (Texas and So. Ill.) are way too strong to go out in the first round. Virginia got lucky in their conference seeing that their conference is one of the strongest.
I was dumbfounded when I saw that Maryland got a #4 seed. They have few prime wins. I see them making no progress in this tourney.
Below is the order of #4 seeds that would get out first:
Maryland, Virginia, Southern Illinois, Texas.

I don't like any of them, but I guess Davidson. If New Mexico State was playing any No. 4 but Texas I'd choose them. They split with Nevada this year and played them tough each time. If Virginia has a bad night--which they are prone to--I guess it is possible Albany could play with them and grab an upset. But that is more Virginia failing than Albany doing anything to beat them.

Well, it seems like everyone is writing off New Mexico State but I think they have the BEST chance of winning the game. yes, virginia is susceptible becuase of their hot and cold guard play combined with weak inside play to an upset and Davidson is very efficient on offense and shoots the 3 very well but I think New Mexico State has great athleticism. Although NMSU shoots it poorly at time, the youth of Texas may prove to hurt them. NMSU isnt your normal midmajor. They feature many guys from big time universities who transferred: Elijah Ingram came from St. Johns, Martin Iti came from Charlotte, Justin Hawkins came from Utah, and Fred Peete came from Kansas State. This shows that NMSU has enough talent to play with Texas. And although Texas has the best player on the floor, Kevin Durant, Durant is still only a freshman and he is still a human. He cannot make every shot. If NMSU hangs in the game long enough, the inexperience of Texas may begin to show and upset becomes possible.

NMSU all the way, a seven ft center(Martin Iti), play full court press which texas can't play and they are Dangerous Nobody knows them, They would have been ranked but play in a weak conference, and they are always in a game. Kevin durant is overrated and has just came off a very difficult tournment, and who else knows anyone on their team that can score, EVERYONE on NMSU avgs. at least ten points or better, not mention they steal the ball alot.

No. the #a million seed is i think of ninety-0 interior the 1st around. there have been 2 Vs. 15 upsets, like while Steve Nash performed for Santa Clara, and that i cant remeber who they beat, yet i desire to assert it grew to become into Georgetown.
