For an American you seem awfully concerned. Which country do you think would profit most from such a union? The population and economic clout would all be based in the United States. How would your sovereignity be affected by acquiring all that extra land to control?

Next you will be saying that Jefferson should have declined the Louisiana Purchase and that the Mexican War was a defeat. I guess Seward got robbed, too.

If you want to worry about loss of sovereignity, try worrying about the loss of the people's sovereign power to corporate boards and their well funded candidates. They ignore the borders you are obsessed with to steal democracy from us all.

NAFTA in all its forms is not about mere sovereignity. Canada, the USA and Mexico have all surrendered their national governments to the men who can buy power. They don't care about nations, only about money.

That's what NAFTA was about, and remains about. Before NAFTA there were restrictions on how much money a person or corporation could withdraw from a country's national economy, but now there are none. Once the rich could move their money at will, they had what they wanted.
