just ignore him for one or two mistakes, and play the game out. If he is still cheating on his score, then call his or your coach. Most of the time, coaches are always just and fair in their calls. Don't call you parents, or else they will just be one sided for you. Also, if their is a tennis official there, call him or her up to watch the line plays.

a few ideas.
1) call someone else to referee the match, call the lines, call the score. preferably someone impartial, that neither player would object to.
2) hit the ball at least a metre inside each line, so that he can't possibly call the ball out.
3) tell him that you disagree with the call he made, ask him if he's sure about it, if he's not suggest a replay.
NB. you get to make line calls when the ball bounces on your side of the court when there is no referee.
PS. If he is uncertain as to whether the ball is in/out he must give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it is in.

I've seen this happen all the time. And there are plenty of ways to approach this problem.
1) Call a line judge or coach. Never ask "are you sure?" Because its not like he's going to change his mind because you want him to.
2) Ignore the fisrt few bad calls. Sometimes, if the calls aren't making an influence in the score, don't argue.
3) If you are 100% sure that he cheated you on a game point...make it even. Let him know that there's more than one playing the game! He's going to argue, that's when you say "I see it just like you see mine!"

You have to just zone it out. Do not play the game of trying to get even, and hook him back, you will find yourself losing your focus. When he hooks you just say "nice call" and turn your back and walk back and towel off and let him start talking trash, You ignore it all and play on he will be thinking about what you said and lose some focus. Unfortunately it gets worse in college, Anything close to the line gets called out. I always hated calling for a linesman , They always seemed to miss more and interfere more then help. I know it is frustrating , but you just have to accept that this is the way it goes and let it roll off you. Keep your chin up,

I call them, " the wanna be tennis players ".
I think ANY tennis player who hit the ball outside the cort line, needs to go back to tennis school & should be voted out of tennis.
It is like me(after years of urinating) & i still could not hit the inside circle of the toielt boul.

you should probably get a line judge especially if it is starting to affect your game. you should try to do this at the change over, but if it is getting outrageous, then just pause the game and go get the tournament director. If it's a high school match, get both(!!!) coaches so that both viewpoints are displayed.

You aren't supposed to challenge his calls. If it gets to the point where you feel as if you are getting jipped, call your coach over and explain the situation. Your coach along with the other kid's coach will watch lines for the remainder of the match

I would hit the ball hard right at him at the net, then say i just wanted to make sure the ball was in. Just don't make it too obvious, wait for the right time. oh, don't for get to raise your racket and say you're sorry.
