my long tailed lizards kinda resemble anoles, but with extremely long tails, the male will open his mouth as i am spritzing the tank in the morning. as if he is either tring to over dominate the water and show whos boss or catch the water droplets. Joe is his name. and jolene is my female. They rest with their legs up and with their tails wraped around the vegitation. they jump and run when they are startled or just feeling roghty. you could have scared him. Also if your temp is lower than normal, they will be a bit more sluggish. after they have heat tho, they are pretty active.
Reptiles are also more active the more they have to eat, if he gobbles up all his food right away maybe give him a coule extra crickets, or whatever your feeding him. try feeding him more often.
Always Always Always, gut load the food item, and "dust" the crickets. Make shure your calcium and i think its phosphate? ratio is 2:1 more calcium than the other.
If you have a heat lamp on him make shure he is not to hot and not to cold. just depends on what they need. make shure he doesnt have any parasites, his poos shouldnt be runny and should always have a solid consistancy.
just keep a eye on him, he might be getting old too.
Good luck to you and your "Bobby"
Cute name by the way!

Has your son noticed his slow walk? Well if it will make it any better you can buy a new green anole they are only $8.00 at the pet store. And maybe your son will feel better and hopefully Bobby heals.

You may have scared him because he wasn't paying attention- was he making any noise (hissing or intake of breath?).
As long as it wasn't a long fall and he landed on something soft, I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure he keeps eating. I do not know how long anoles live, so he could be getting older as well.

Are you giving him the right conditions Temp./ light /diet / environment / water / substrate? On average they live about 3-5 years, he may just be getting old.

He could have metabolic bone disease. it happens when the animals doesn't get enough calcium in its diet. Are you covering his crickets in a calcium powder? That's what needs to be done because crickets don't automatically have enough calcium in them.
