My mom has had 3 dreams so far about my son dying, and my grandma has also had one where she dreamt of him falling into a hole, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about what this could mean. It's worry some to me because my mom will usually dream things that will happen, not only that but for some reason I always have this feeling like I have to protect him more than I have to my daughter, whenI start to pray for them, my mind will automatically go back to my son. I was just wondering if anyone knows what does it usually mean when someone dreams of a loved one dying?

To understand a dream, it’s helpful to keep in mind why and how we dream. When we sleep, the body and perception systems are shut down, but the brain stem continues to fire and the cortex remains active. The thoughts that have been most active during waking hours—perceptions, experiences, thoughts and feelings, processed consciously or unconsciously—are still “peaked” and they associate with other images already linked in your cortex. In other words, the brain references this content, but not in a rational way, not using input from the external real world as in waking hours. So the story connectedness isn’t like everyday experience, but rather a strange flow from one image to the next. Therefore, dreams aren’t magical messages to guide our life, but sequences of associated images taken from everyday experiences - thoughts and feelings that matter a lot to us during our waking life. So it’s a mistake to apply one-size-fits-all symbols, such as Freudian meanings or standard “dreammoods” formulas. All you need to do is think about what kind of imagery it is and how it relates to your daily life.

Very likely, many people have been concerned about your son's ability to take care of himself, and the feelings were active when they fell asleep and they associated with images in the dream sequence.

Rest assured, that doesn't mean it predicts anlything. It just reflects that people are concerned for some reason.

Those don't appear to be dying dreams.

More like a teacher grading a student for a test.

I suggest you see what level your child is at with attentive and cognitive skills and focus on his or her abilities to help raise their learning skills to sharpen the mental and physical learning abilities as they grow older.

It is a natural trait in all of us to evaluate others. Some of us have not learned techniques to help by setting more reasonable goals for youth as they get into their twos and threes and four years of age since we did not have that way of doing things taught to us when we were growing up.

Your parent may be subconsciously evaluating your child progress in their dream sleep view with their old value system and having dreams of them falling short or down a hole is suggestive of their inner realm of concepts where the child is lacking. By giving the child a more challenging set of objectives you will raise them up in your parents eyes and their dreams may be more uplifting instead of going down.

Someone descending is getting lazy' or, ascending' means they are getting better at what they are doing.

Becoming better able to keep one's temper is a passion dream significant of raising up or for example: climbing a staircase.

While falling is a sign of failure at getting better at developing a mental skill dreams are like suggestion that we see the person as not getting any challenge for their age level.

Does your child know your alphabet by heart, different colors and the colors they can make by mixing two different colors. How about counting to ten or doing simple math 1+1 =? If your child is already at those levels challenges with a higher range is necessary so they keep getting better acquainted with the world of wonder going on around them all their lives.

Your parents may be dreaming that which she is not able to express any other way.
