Pick a patent subject. Go to google. click on "more" and a list opens, click on "patents", then you can search by location, inventor, patent number, or type of invention. You could do a theme like "crazy inventions" or "alternative fuels" (c. 1920 they patented the method of converting natural gas to gasoline), about anything you can imagine odds are someone already has a patent or "prior art" in concept.

something as unique as you can make it. Some science fairs may have a theme ..... so.... try to have it relate to that but .....

That volcano made with baking soda and vinegar gets old ..... try ..... showing something really neat ... like perhaps ...... what happens in the compost pile ... raising worms and their contribution to healthy dirt ....... or ......perhaps a closed dome that demonstrates global warming or something .... good luck ..... science fairs ..... when shared with parents or friends ... are lots of fun ...... let your kid do some of the work too ......
