(continued) steering is jacked up and the front bumper came off. Here's where I need your help!!!!: I'm really just going to dump it on a salvage yard, and take whatever they'll give me for it tomorrow (It's at my place right now). But I have to lie to my boyfriend, who lives about 30 minutes away, and say that the car broke down and I took it to a shop and they said that "It's gonna be about $2000 to fix", which of course is about double what the piece of crap was actually worth, thus justifying me taking it to the junkyard and not wanting to fix - or so the story will go. My question is this: What kind of repair on a '97 Tercel would cost $1700-$2000???? Just give me anything, something, I need your help here!. I just can't tell him that I got in another accident!!!! I have a bad driving record and have a reputation for getting into accidents. I don't wanna lie, but I have to this time. I'm not gonna see him again till Wednesday, so please HELP ME!!! Any advice is appreciated!!!!!!!!

Just tell him that the engine overheated and you took into the shop, that they found antifreeze in the oil so they told you they think the engine block is cracked the only fix is to replace the motor and i know it will cost around 2000 - 2500 on the toyota

I dont understand, its your car isnt it? Accidents happen. If you must lie, at least go with a minor white lie, say you were really tired after work or something and hit something but it was a piece of junk anyway so the bumer came off. Dont go with a huge story like a shop said this and that because he might want to talk to them or something. And when you start stuttering "..um, well.. they umm closed down.. so you cant talk to them..." He'll get suspicious.

Get it straight. LYING DOESN'T WORK. Lying just gets worse and worse until there's no trust left between people. He'll know this at some level, and feel like he can cheat on you.

Get a better boyfriend you don't have to lie to. You're way too good for this. Getting into accidents doesn't make you a bad person.

A friend will help you move.
A good friend will help you move a body.
A REALLY good friend will help you move books!

Shouldn't a boyfriend be at least that good?

So you're going to settle for $50 (which is what a junk yard is going to give you for the car) in order not to have to put up with a little crap from your boyfriend? So what? is your boyfriend paying your insurance? I don't get it.
Tell him some one backed into you. Case closed.

I foresee trouble ahead. If you cannot be straightforward with BF in this, a relatively minor incident, how will you be able to deal with big problems when they occur? And how, if he should find out, will you regain his trust? Please think about all of this before doing anything.

Be honest with your boyfriend if he truly loves you he will be more concerned about you and if you are alright not about a car that can be replaced.

i own a shop, and any kind of a frame damage to it will cost that much to get it to where it can be aligned again,if you could get by with this amount, anytime one has frame damage to it,its usually not worth repairing, they don't ever drive right after they have been hit that hard, good luck selling it.
