I don't think it's a bad thing... I just got engaged in December & we're gonna wait til after college to get married (like 2-3 years from now). Most people don't have long engagements, but there's definitely nothing wrong with it :)

I was engaged nearly 2 years and we've now been married 34 years. We needed to save money because I was a student. I think that for most people, a long engagement is a good idea. What's the hurry?

My husband and I got engaged our junior year of college (March 2002) and just got married in Oct 2005. Everyone kept bugging us about when we were getting married, but we wanted to wait until I was done with grad school. I think people just get anxious cause they are excited and want to go to your wedding now! I dont think they mean to annoy you, they are just happy for you and want to celebrate! There is nothing wrong with a long engagement. It gave us a chance to save money for a home and get all our education out of the way so we were both working and had a place to live when we got married.

I do not think it is bad for a person to have a long engagement. It is better to do that and finish your education before you get married. This will also give you both more time to mature and make sure that you will be right for each other. It is better to be sure about who you are and who they are before you get married.

I wish you the best of luck and Good luck with your education.

cuz people want instant gratification. i think it's a great thing that you've been engaged for 2 years. people should wait longer before they get married. right now your life sounds like it's working out pretty great. don't worry about what others think, do what's best for you. and good luck in your future marriage =)

Probably because they want an invite to your wedding?
People tend to want people to do as they do - I have no idea why. Don't listen to them. Who cares what other people think?
