The mechanic used too much force and valve cover bolt stripped the threads off the cylinder head. I found this out after the "repairs'' were made a few years ago. "There is no legal recourse," the shop told me.

Has anyone had any experience with adhesive thread repair? I found a thread repair adhesive made by Permatex pn#81668. with the permatex product?

i own a repair shop, and i been in this for around 36 yrs, take my word for it it doesn't work ,its not worth the time and effort to do this, what you need to do is get a Helli-coil kit for that type of threads, and you can do this by taking one of the old bolts with you ,and use the Helli-coil on it,they do work really good, and there a permanent repair, they wont strip out again, that's the best way to repair this, that other stuff they have on the market it just not worth wasting your money on,good luck,i hope this helps.
