They are probably Indian meal moths, a common kitchen insect pest. The eggs or larvae probably came in on birdseed, grains, flour, beans and even pet food. The first thing to do is to discard all infested products and scrubbing the cupboards. Store all dry food in sealed glass, metal or hard plastic containers as the larvae can eat chew through paper, plastic bags and cardboard. The moths life cycle is 6-8 weeks and might take a couple of months to completely rid your kitchen of the problem

Hi. I used to help take care of an elderly couple, and they had this same problem. Either the moths were brought in from the stores (I've seen those same moths flying around in the baked goods and pet food sections in stores), or they were attracted to open containers of things like crackers and dry cereal. I ended up taking everything out of their cabinets and wiping shelves, drawers, etc. with bleach water. I then threw out everything that was open that they possibly were into. Try to keep open dry food in zip lock baggies or plastic containers.

We used to have these too. They probably get attracted to flour or something, and lay eggs in cracks. My current house is moth-free, but the last two had them to varying degrees.
