Well - what is the look you are after? Here are some of my opinions about girl clothing for guys. (isn't it strange we are bugged by guys in clothing that has a "W" on the size tag, but girls can wear anything guys wear?)
I think simple flat maryjane shoes are cool looking - I like the Jupiter model by Softwalk - I think Zappos has them. Don't wear thick dorky athletic socks with them - use thin socks such as for women. Clogs are also cool. Look at Dansko or Ecco for women as well as men. Oh yeah - boots are always cool - black, not pointy, with some heel.
I think guys shirts are thick and baggy. Try getting your tee-shirts from the women's section of Gap or Banana Republic. Better colors, better styles.
Get women's jeans with a bit of stretch. A lot of guys wear them now. Stay away from low cut and bun huggers.
I've bought some of these things for a boyfriend. He said some of his guy friends were a little wierded out, but he said more girls came on to him. Hmm, maybe I made a mistake!
---------------------------
I see you've added that you are interested in skirts and dresses. Personally, I think that's fine. However, whenever you (or anyone) dresses, it is partly about expressing yourself, and partly about deciding what you project to other people. I say, be yourself. But you also need to think about how others will see you; it's okay if you don't care how they see you, but be aware. Also be aware that if you dress in a way that is not widely accepted, some people are stupid enough to want to hurt you.
At any rate - back to clothes. Look at the girls around you to see what kinds of looks you like. A cool look these days is a denim mini (a couple of inches above the knee), tights (either black, or a color that matches your top), and black boots with a bit of heel. Whatever you choose, think "proportion." That is, if you have big shoulders and a hairy chest, don't wear a strappy low-cut cami - a t-shirt will be better. If you have a belly, stay away from tops that are close fitting. As for dresses - I dunno. I don't see a lot of them these days. Look around and copy the looks you like. Have fun with it, and don't stress.
Oh, for finding your size? You can get a good idea by measuring yourself (waist, chest), and then go online (gap.com, bananarepublic.com ...) and see thier size charts for the things you like. Be aware that different brands use different sizing schemes. Sometimes 2 different items from the same brand will have different sizing schemes. You can order online, and return what doesn't fit - but you'll probably have to pay the return postage. You can order shoes/boots from zappos.com - they have free shipping and free return shipping so you can try things on. The other solution is just go to the store and try things on. Probably most sales people will be helpful - after all, they are being paid to sell clothes.
