Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
I am glad that as Americans we band together to help each other in a time of crisis or natural disaster.

I am not proud of how there are people here going hungry yet we spend billions to rebuild and aid other countries.

I am not proud that there are so many Americans that do not have health insurance

And I am proud that there can be a synagog on one corner, a church on another and we are not fighting with each other.

I am proud of our diversity.

I am not proud that we are suppose to be a democracy, and we are more communist than people want to believe/hear.

And I am not proud that our school system is behind those in Europe--those kids are learning so much more than our kids.

Yes! What other country would you be more proud to be a part of? In spite of our problems, we are a grand country that permits more freedom than any other. I do think the illegals should be sent back and that anyone entering this country and others, should do so via the legal process or pay the consequences, which should be severe.

I'm from Italy and my young children were born here. I agree with you Amanda, I don't like your president but.......
I am proud to be in America, grateful for all the opportunities it has given to me.
I am proud to have two beautiful children who go to school here and honor their country.
I am proud, when they sing the National Anthem, that even they, get teary eyes and feel the same pride as me.
I am proud , that no other country, has the guts to put as down.
One day, I will also become America and honor this country for all the sacrifices it has made.

I am a proud Canadian.

We to have an open immigration policy.

What I like most about Canada is that we encourage people to hold onto their ethnicity , unlike the melting pot "nationalistic and often ethnocentric" philosophy like my American cousins mandate.

It is one thing to welcome foreigners, but it is another to force them to lose their cultural identity .
Canada is in my opinion one of the best countries to live in in the world.
I have enjoyed access to education , jobs etc. that my American family simply have not had access to do to socioeconomic status and out and out racism.
