I wish I had a nickel for every time I have been told
"You cannot be too nice!" People will take complete advantage of you and leave you hanging out to dry. I disagree. I have always treated others the way I would like to be treated. I believe that a compassionate person will be there and help you to a point.Maybe what they need is support in making a decision. That isn't asking for to much is it?

I believe that if you show compassion and are nice you will eventual "win." However, nice people don't "win" right away. We are marathon runners not sprinters.

>> I have been thinking a lot about this lately. I was always taught the same that is to treat others the way I WOULD LIKE TO BE treated. Well, it seems to me that everyone is just out for themselves anymore and I have just recently started treating people the way they treat me. I have always tried to help people and do the right thing. In return I get nothing. On a daily basis someone in traffic cuts me off or some other rude behavior. At work, I get people that try to step on me because I am too nice and not playing their stupid "make her look bad so I will look better" games. I have taken it for too long. It goes against the grain for me, but I am slowly learning their ways. My new favorite cliche is "If you can't beat them, join them"

"Kindness is rewarded, no matter how small." (i dont know if that's right or who wrote it)
i personally believe there is no limit to true kindness. sometimes people act way too nice because they want something in return, such as homework answers. a truly compassionate person will help u as much as the can, but if they actually care about u, they will only help u and not do it for u, so that u actually learn something.
true, some people just say "yes, ma'am" to anything but they need to learn the little word "no"
some people just ask for too much and they are just evil...i htink one of the worst wrongs commited in this world are stronger people taking advantage of the helpless and kind little people...
but as answer to your question, i think that no, there is no limit to TRUE KINDNESS. (not the workd: true)

There's a difference between being compassionate and being a passive doormat. A doormat is nice because they're afraid of offending people and is desperate to be liked or popular. A compassionate person does the right thing even if it doesn't make them popular, so they are actually being courageous and standing up for what they believe in.

I to have heard "you're too nice" alot in my life. I think only to a person who isn't nice...are you too nice. I would love to have the opportunity to run into someone as I am. Most times I discovered that the people who said that to me, were ones that would never treat me the same.

as a general rule no but to someone who would have to argue for the sake of it. yes and for this reason. If you push your compassion and niceness over the top of others so you are wearing some crown of glory for all to see. then yes. Proverbs 16:2 Hope this helps. by the way I donot have to argue just a figure of speach.

i think you can be too nice, only if it gets to the point of being annoying. being compassionate is an awesome & infrequent quality too few people have these days, kudos for livin' the golden rule-more people should.

Not at all. You r not asking for too much. You reflect a simple honest nature. There is never a loss in being "too good". It pays u back in multiples.
