how is erosion helpful to earth's surface?

Erosion in general not beneficial on many ways. but to certain extent it may helpful considering natural process.
1) erosion is a natural process if it occurs within the tolerable limit it is considered safe. ie the rate of removel should be less than the rate of production.

erosion associated deposition lands (alluvium) fertile lands which are highly suitable for agriculture.
also mangrove ecosystems are the result of depositio of eroded materials only. this supports huge number of biota in our world.
thus though it has no direct linkage with benefical helps it indirctly encourages some good things if it occurs in limited extent

Erosion could help in the accumulation of sediments so itr could form sedimentary rocks over time.
